What Pondletter collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Last updated 11 October 2026.

Pondletter is a small research publication about Kalshi. This page says what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

  • Your email address and name, if you give them, when you subscribe free or as a member. We use them to send the newsletter, the lesson emails and the course, and to let you sign in.
  • Your membership and payment status. Paid memberships are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
  • Email activity, such as whether an email was delivered or opened, from our email providers (Ghost and Mailgun). We use it to keep the list healthy.
  • Server logs: the pages requested, the time, your IP address and browser type. We use them to keep the site running and to count visits, for example how many readers arrive from our YouTube videos. We do not sell them or use them for advertising.
  • Replies you send us. If you reply to an email, we read it and keep it.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or share your information with advertisers.
  • We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site. Embedded YouTube videos use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode.
  • We never manage money or place trades for anyone.

Services we rely on

Ghost (the publishing platform and member accounts), Stripe (payments), Mailgun (email delivery), DigitalOcean (hosting) and YouTube (videos). Each handles your information under its own privacy policy.

Our YouTube tool

We use a Google API application, "Pondletter uploader", only to upload and manage videos on Pondletter's own YouTube channel. It is used solely by Pondletter, does not access any viewer's or subscriber's Google account, and collects no information about you.

Some pages include our Kalshi referral link. If you use it, Kalshi may tell us that a referral happened. We do not receive your Kalshi account details.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, or in your account settings at pondletter.com/#/portal/account.
  • Cancel a paid membership at any time from the same account page.
  • To see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, reply to any Pondletter email and ask. We will do it promptly.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
